High Dynamic Range (HDR) Photographer
RWins Photography has been using advanced digital effects for years and one such effect is getting a lot of attention recently and for good reason! It is called High Dynamic Range and offers a infinite set of possibilities to significantly enhance an image.
- Make a photograph appear to have look richer and show more depth.
- Properly expose an interior AND exterior in the same image.
- Take a seemingly dull subject and make it come to life!
- Transform a continous tone image into illustrative artwork.
What is HDR?
High Dynamic Range (or HDR) images are created by combining a set of images at different exposures into one image. By photographing the same image over a range of exposures, the properly exposed portions of each image are combined so the entire image has proper exposure. Thus the filament of an incandescent bulb can be visible at the same time as the deepest shadows in a room.
Besides constructing an image with all parts properly exposed, you can apply this process many different ways to produce a gamut of creative possibilities from an image with enhanced highlights and shadow detail to images that look like graphic illustrations with bold oversaturated colors.
Why hire a High Dynamic Range Photographer
Like so many aspects of photography today, the HDR technique is available to the consumer, however an HDR photographer has master the techniques using professional tools that take it to a higher level of capability and quality. We started using the HDR technique in 2006, but didn't begin to appreciate the breadth of possibilities until we began using it as a creative tool and not just a image adjustment technique.
